5 Minute Healthy Ice Cream

The weather is finally warming up and nothing beats ice cream after a hard workout! What? Yeah!

1/2 cup of Haagen Daz Ice cream has 240 calories, 21 grams of sugar, 18 grams of fat (30% DV) and 5 grams of protein. 

1+ cup of this homemade keto ice cream has 140 calories, 1 gram of sugar, 3 grams of fat, and 30 grams of protein! The flavor will depend on what flavor your protein powder is and anything else you decide to add (honey, vanilla extract, mint extract, a shot of espresso, strawberries, fruit, cocoa powder, etc)

Here is how to make it

Ingredients: 1 scoop of protein, 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or skim milk), 1/2 cup of salt, and ice

You will also need one small ziploc bag and one gallon sized ziploc bag.

  1. Mix protein powder and milk in small ziploc bag. Add your filling or additional flavor. Seal the bag.
  2. Fill large ziplock bag with ice 1/3 of the way. Add salt
  3. Put your small bag into the large bag and seal the bag
  4. Shake for 5 minutes! (don’t be too rough or it will leak!)

Then let it sit for 3-5 minutes depending on how you like your ice cream.
